Dhaka Sept. 14, 2017. A large number of scientists from Bangladesh participated in the Biosafety conference.

Bangladesh delegation comprised  teachers from Universities as well as distinguished scientists from different research institutes.

This conference is the premier biosafety meeting in South Asia, and provides an essential forum to hear from leading scientists representing regulatory agencies, public sector research institutions, and the private sector in South Asia and internationally.

This conference was held under the auspices of the South Asia Biosafety Program (SABP), the ILSI Research Foundation and Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL)

The South Asia Biosafety Program (SABP), supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is dedicated to assisting India and Bangladesh in further strengthening institutional governance of biotechnology. Managed by the ILSI Research Foundation, SABP provides technical assistance to the biosafety risk assessment and research communities in India and Bangladesh, and further supports the efforts of the Governments to implement functional and scientifically sound regulatory processes for agricultural biotechnology.
