Dhaka 21st Feb., ’14. We  are delighted to inform the members and well-wishers of GNOBB  that Ahmad Kabirat Rajshahi University  along with his two colleagues published online  a review paper titled,

Zinc-deficiency resistance and biofortification in plants,” in the J. Plant Nutrition and Soil Science. The senior author has himself summarized the results of the investigation as follows:

The article mainly dealt with the mechanisms of Zn deficiency tolerance in crop plants. Strategies for further improvement of Zn-efficiency through biotechnological approaches are also addressed. The paper will be helpful for those GNOBB members who are working onbiofortification and abiotic stress tolerance. Through this forum, Dr. Kabir expresses his interest to collaborate with national and international researchers to work on mineral and abiotic stress tolerance at physiological, molecular and metabolic level, thereby ensuring enhanced yield and nutrition in crop plants and to alleviate food scarcity and malnutrition in Bangladesh.
