Dhaka August 2, 2017. IBO 2017 was organized by the Royal Society of Biology in partnership with The University of Warwick, UK. The event began on Sunday the 23rd July with an Opening Ceremony. Over the week there were two full days of exams for participants, split into practical and theory. There were also a number of excursions and activities for both participants and the accompanying jury members. The Olympiad closed with an Award Dinner on Saturday the 29th July. Sixty eight countries participated in this event. Also there were four observer participants.
A team from Bangladesh participated in the International Biology Olympiad at the University of Warwick, UK.

Professor Dr. Rakha Hari Sarker, Department of Botany, University of Dhaka
Both the participants from Bangladesh received a merit award each in the Olympiad.
