26th January, 2915, With a heavy heart and a deep sense of grief and pathos, GNOBB announces the death of Professor Dr. Satyajit Kumar Bhadra this afternoon, the 26th of January. He was a Professor in the Department of Botany, Chittagong University.  In his death Bangladesh has lost one of its dedicated and dynamic scientists in the field of plant genetics. Professor Bhadra did his M.Sc. in Botany from Dhaka University and Ph.D. from the Indian Agriculture Research Institute,  New Delhi India, under the guidance of the famous academician, Dr. S. K. Jain. He was suffering from cancer for a number of years. Conscientious as he was, during the period of his illness he carried out his duty and took classes until the end of his life.
