In an article entitled, “Remediation of synthetic dyes from waste water using yeast—An overview published in the October 1912 issue of the Indian J. Biotech. Nilanjana Das   and D. Charumathi give an overview of  the problem of pollution resulting from industrial wastes. The above two scientists have found out a solution in that by using suitable strains of various yeast species they succeeded in remedying the situation by means of  bioaccumulation and biodegradation.  They found that several yeast genera are able to purify the  water environment via processes like biosorption,
These scientists adduce positive evidence of removal of synthetic dyes from industrial wastes. Here is a situation from where BD  environmental scientists can benefit. The National Institute of Biotechnology may immediately take up a similar project.
