February, 22, '17. The Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd - a Leading pharmaceutical industry of the country started Samson H Chowdhury Memorial Award to recognize two young scientists of the country in each alternate year since 2013 for their contribution new to science. This year, 2017, two young scientists of Dhaka University, Associate Professors Dr. ABMM Khademul Islam, Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and Dr. Munawara Sultana, Department of Microbiology, were selected for this award. Health minister Mohammed Nasim handed over the awards to the recipients on the 18th February in a simple ceremony at Dhaka club.
